CompositionECT 90 Tablet is used to provide relief from the pain and swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and acute gout attacks. It is also effective for managing short-term pain after dental surgery. It contains etoricoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor.
Etoricoxib works by selectively blocking the COX-2 enzyme, which is responsible for producing the chemicals that cause pain, swelling and inflammation, while having less effect on the stomach-protecting COX-1 pathway than older NSAIDs.
Take this tablet daily, with or without food, at the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed, exactly as your doctor prescribes.
Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, or a history of stroke, as COX-2 inhibitors can increase cardiovascular risk with prolonged use. Report swelling of the ankles or feet, unusual weight gain, or shortness of breath.
