Drez 1/5 % Ointment 10 GM contains two active ingredients:

• Metronidazole (1 %): This ingredient is a nitroimidazole antibiotic. When it enters a bacterial cell, it is processed by certain enzymes, which produce harmful free radicals that are toxic to the bacteria. Moreover, metronidazole blocks bacterial DNA synthesis, leading to cell death. It shows particular activity against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa.

• Povidone Iodine (5 %): Povidone-iodine is an antiseptic that slowly releases iodine into the body. The iodine infiltrates microbes and oxidises various proteins, fatty acids, and DNA within them, resulting in cell death. It has a broad range of antimicrobial effects against bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and viruses.

• Keep Drez 1/5 % Ointment 10 GM at room temperature between 15 °C and 30 °C.
