Coughmate Capsule 10 may interact with other medicines, such as:

• Antihypertensive medicines (e.g., amlodipine, atenolol): Phenylephrine may reduce the effectiveness of blood pressure-lowering medicines and increase blood pressure.
• Antidiabetic medicines (e.g., metformin, insulin): Phenylephrine may affect blood glucose control in some individuals; monitoring may be required.
• Antiepileptic medicines (e.g., phenytoin): Dextromethorphan may enhance central nervous system effects when combined with other CNS-active medicines.
• Other antihistamines or sedatives: Combining with additional antihistamines, sleeping pills, or sedatives may increase drowsiness, sleepiness, or mild dizziness.
• Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (e.g., phenelzine) or certain antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine): Concomitant use may cause severe hypertension or serotonin syndrome. Do not take this medicine if you are taking, or have taken within the last 14 days, an MAOI.
• Other cold or decongestant medicines: Taking additional decongestants may increase the risk of high blood pressure, palpitations, or heart rate changes.
• Cough suppressants or CNS-acting medicines: Dextromethorphan may interact with other medicines affecting the central nervous system, potentially enhancing sedation or dizziness.

Use Coughmate Capsule 10 with caution if you have the following conditions:

• Severe hypertension: The medicine may significantly increase blood pressure due to the vasoconstrictive effect of Phenylephrine. Use with caution and only under medical supervision.
• Severe coronary artery disease: The medicine may increase heart workload and oxygen demand due to the vasoconstrictive effect of Phenylephrine, which may worsen symptoms such as chest pain. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
• Productive cough with excessive mucus: Dextromethorphan should not be taken for a persistent or chronic cough associated with excessive mucus unless advised by a doctor.
• Enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia): The medicine may increase the risk of difficulty urinating or urinary retention. Use with caution and consult your doctor if symptoms worsen.
• Glaucoma: It may worsen eye pressure in patients with glaucoma.
• Thyroid disorders or diabetes: The medication may affect heart rate or blood sugar in sensitive individuals; monitoring may be advised.
• Respiratory conditions (e.g., asthma): Use with caution, especially if symptoms worsen or breathing becomes difficult. Seek medical advice if wheezing or shortness of breath occurs.
• Severe respiratory infection with high fever: Use with caution and seek medical advice, as symptom suppression may delay recognition of a more serious illness.

The daily dose of Coughmate Capsule 10 should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Dosage may vary depending on the severity of symptoms, age, and individual response to treatment. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully and do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Taking more than the prescribed amount of Coughmate Capsule 10 may increase the risk of drowsiness, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, or stomach discomfort. If an overdose is suspected, contact your doctor or seek immediate medical attention.

If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not take extra capsules to make up for it, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
