Colstim Injection 1ml

Colstim Injection 1ml is used for the following:

• Reducing neutropenia in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy

• Decreasing infection risk during cancer treatment

• Speeding up recovery after bone marrow transplantation

• Boosting white blood cell production

• Mobilising blood stem cells for collection

• Managing chronic severe neutropenia

• Preventing febrile neutropenia in cancer patients

• Supporting immune function during intensive treatments

• Restoring neutrophil counts in blood disorders

• Reducing hospital stays due to infection complications

Follow these instructions while using Colstim Injection 1ml:

• Allow the syringe to reach room temperature for 30 minutes before injection for comfort.

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling the syringe.

• Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and let it dry completely.

• Administer the injection under the skin (not into a vein or muscle).

• Do not shake the prefilled syringe.

• Store unused syringes in the refrigerator in their original packaging.

• Dispose of used syringes properly in a sharps container.

• Consult your doctor if you have questions about the injection technique.

Colstim Injection 1ml is administered via the subcutaneous route.

Colstim Injection 1ml contains Filgrastim (0.3 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Neutrophil production stimulation: Filgrastim binds to specific receptors on the surface of blood-forming cells in your bone marrow, particularly neutrophil precursors, stimulating them to grow and develop into mature neutrophils.

• Cell proliferation enhancement: It increases the division and multiplication of neutrophil precursor cells in the bone marrow, increasing the count of these important infection-fighting white blood cells.

• Cell differentiation promotion: Filgrastim encourages immature neutrophil precursors to develop and mature into fully functional neutrophils that can effectively combat infections.

• Neutrophil activation: It helps activate mature neutrophils, enhancing their ability to identify and destroy harmful bacteria and other pathogens in your body.

• Keep Colstim Injection 1ml refrigerated at 2-8°C in its original carton.

• Allow the prefilled syringe to reach room temperature for 30 minutes before use.

• Protect from light and avoid freezing or shaking.

• Store away from children's reach.

• Check the expiry date on the syringe label and do not use if expired.

• Can be kept at room temperature for a maximum of 15 days.

• If you're receiving chemotherapy alongside Colstim Injection 1ml, ensure adequate hydration by drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily to help your body manage neutropenia and flush out chemotherapy agents.

• Include foods rich in antioxidants, such as berries, leafy greens, and citrus fruits, to support your immune system while your neutrophil counts (white blood cells that fight infection) recover.
