Chymofen Tablet 10 is used for relieving pain and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is also effective in relieving acute pain and inflammation caused by conditions such as post-operative recovery, dental pain, and ear, nose, and throat inflammation. The tablet works by blocking the production of inflammatory chemicals in the body, providing relief from pain, swelling, and stiffness. Chymofen Tablet 10 has three active ingredients:

• Aceclofenac (100 mg): A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, aceclofenac works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, responsible for producing pro-inflammatory prostaglandins that cause inflammation and pain. By blocking these, aceclofenac provides analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects.
• Paracetamol/acetaminophen (325 mg): This acts as an analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting COX enzymes in the brain and spinal cord, and reduces prostaglandin synthesis, helping manage pain and regulate body temperature.
• Trypsin-chymotrypsin (150000 AU): These proteolytic enzymes break down proteins into smaller peptides and reduce inflammation by promoting the absorption of aceclofenac and paracetamol, removing inflammatory exudates and fibrin deposits, reducing oedema by increasing permeability of blood vessels, and inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators like bradykinin.

Together, these make the tablet an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-oedema formulation useful for managing several conditions.
