CAREMOX AG PLUS Tablet is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections affecting the lungs, urinary tract and skin. It contains amoxicillin, an antibiotic, together with clavulanic acid, which stops bacterial enzymes from destroying the antibiotic. It also contains lactobacillus.
Amoxicillin works by stopping bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria, while clavulanic acid blocks an enzyme that some bacteria use to destroy amoxicillin, extending its effectiveness against resistant strains.
Take this tablet with food at evenly spaced intervals, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and complete the full course even if you feel better early.
Tell your doctor if you have a known allergy to penicillins, and report persistent loose motions (diarrhoea), as this can occasionally indicate a more serious antibiotic-related bowel condition needing medical review.
