Calmac 50 Tablet is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer in adult men. It helps slow disease progression by blocking the action of male hormones (androgens) that promote cancer cell growth. It contains bicalutamide.
It belongs to the class of non-steroidal antiandrogens. It is often prescribed in combination with LHRH agonists (medicines that reduce testosterone production) to achieve more effective hormonal suppression and control cancer spread. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Staying physically active as tolerated, eating a balanced diet, and attending regular check-ups support overall wellbeing during treatment.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver problems or other medicines you take. Regular monitoring may be required during therapy. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience breast tenderness, persistent fatigue, or symptoms suggesting liver problems such as yellowing of the skin or eyes.
