CompositionBiprab 40 Mg Injection 1 is used to treat severe acid-related conditions of the stomach and food pipe, such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, particularly when a rapid reduction of stomach acid is needed or oral medicines cannot be taken.
It contains pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It is given by a healthcare professional as a slow injection or drip, usually as a short-term treatment until you are able to switch to tablets. This helps the food pipe and stomach lining heal and reduces the risk of stress-related ulcers.
While receiving this treatment, avoiding spicy, fatty or acidic foods, cutting down on alcohol and tobacco, and not lying down soon after meals can help ease symptoms of acid reflux and support healing of the food pipe and stomach lining.
Before this medicine is given, tell your doctor if you have severe liver disease, low magnesium levels, or osteoporosis, as long-term acid-suppressing treatment can affect bone strength. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medicines. Report any unusual bruising, persistent diarrhoea, or signs of low magnesium such as muscle cramps or an irregular heartbeat.
