Composition

Ceftriaxone (1000 Mg) + Sulbactam (500 Mg)

Big Tum 1.5 G Injection 1 is used to treat severe bacterial infections affecting the lungs, urinary tract, skin, abdomen and other parts of the body. It is a combination antibiotic medicine. It contains ceftriaxone and sulbactam.

This medicine helps stop bacteria from multiplying and limits the spread of infection. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse under medical supervision, usually for more severe infections.

Drinking enough fluids and keeping to your treatment schedule support recovery alongside this medicine.

Before treatment, tell your doctor about any known allergies, especially to antibiotics, or any kidney problems, and about all other medicines you take. Report any rash, itching, swelling or severe loose motions (diarrhoea) to your care team.

Big Tum 1.5 G Injection 1 is used to treat serious bacterial infections involving the lungs, abdomen, urinary tract and skin, especially in severe cases needing rapid, effective infection control.

Uses of Big Tum 1.5 G Injection 1 are:

Lung Infections: Treats serious bacterial infections of the lungs.
Urinary and Abdominal Infections: Treats infections of the urinary tract and abdomen.
Skin Infections: Treats bacterial infections of the skin.

Administer Big Tum 1.5g Injection 1 as follows:

This medication is given either intravenously (through a vein) or intramuscularly by a healthcare professional.
The injection is administered slowly over at least 30 minutes.
Ensure to complete the full course of the medication as per your doctor's instructions, even if symptoms improve.

Digestive: loose motions (diarrhoea), feeling sick (nausea), vomiting and stomach pain.
Skin: skin rash, itching and hives (urticaria).
Blood: changes in blood counts, such as a rise in one type of white cell (eosinophilia).

Management Of Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, and they resolve when you discontinue using Big Tum 1.5g Injection 1. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Big Tum 1.5g Injection 1 contains two active ingredients:

Ceftriaxone (1000 mg): This component is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. Once the cell wall formation is disrupted, the bacterium disintegrates and dies. It's effective against a wide array of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Sulbactam (500 mg): Sulbactam acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, which helps to overcome certain types of antibiotic resistance. Some bacteria produce beta-lactamase enzymes that can destroy ceftriaxone and similar antibiotics. By blocking these enzymes, sulbactam enhances the antibacterial activity of ceftriaxone.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, caution is advised when using Big Tum 1.5g Injection 1. It is best to consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Alcohol
