Bd Taxel 260 Injection 43.4ml contains paclitaxel (6 mg) as its active ingredient, which works on the body in the following ways:

• Microtubule stabilisation: Paclitaxel binds to tubulin proteins in cells, creating unusually stable microtubules that resist breakdown when they normally would during cell division.

• Cell division interference: By stabilising these microtubules, paclitaxel prevents cancer cells from properly dividing and multiplying, stopping them in the middle of their division process.

• Cell death induction: When cancer cells cannot complete their normal division cycle due to the stabilised microtubules, they eventually trigger a process called apoptosis, which is a form of controlled cell death.

• Targeting: Paclitaxel targets all rapidly dividing cells, which include cancer cells as well as healthy cells in the bone marrow, digestive tract, and hair follicles. This is why side effects like low blood counts and hair loss occur.
