Averm Plus 12 Mg Tablet 5 is an antiparasitic medicine used to treat specific parasitic worm and skin infections in adults and children. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing ivermectin, and belongs to a class of medicines called anthelmintics.
This medicine works by paralysing and killing the parasites, which helps clear the infection. It is used for intestinal strongyloidiasis and river blindness (onchocerciasis), and for scabies when initial topical treatments fail. Take the tablet as prescribed, usually on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food, and always complete the treatment or repeat dose as instructed by your doctor.
Maintaining good personal hygiene, washing clothing and bed linen in warm water and keeping the skin clean can help prevent reinfection and avoid spreading the infection to family members.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, asthma or a weakened immune system, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor if you experience severe skin itching, joint pain or a persistent fever after taking the tablet.
