Atrolet 10 Tablet 20 is used to manage high cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease in adults. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing atorvastatin, and belongs to a class of medicines called statins.
This medicine works by blocking an enzyme in the liver called HMG-CoA reductase, which is needed to produce cholesterol, thereby lowering harmful LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while raising HDL (good) cholesterol. Take this tablet with or without food, regularly at the same time for the ease of remembering, in the dose prescribed by your doctor.
A cholesterol-lowering diet, regular physical activity and avoiding smoking support the effect of this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems or diabetes, and about any other medicines you are taking, before starting this medicine. It is contraindicated during pregnancy. Report any persistent muscle pain, tenderness or weakness to your doctor promptly. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
