ASPEEDAY ER 75MG Tablet 10 is used for the long-term prevention of heart attacks and ischaemic strokes, and to manage the complications of angina (heart-related chest pain). It is used in people with a history of cardiovascular disease or who have had procedures such as heart bypass surgery or angioplasty.
It contains a low dose of aspirin, which works as an antiplatelet medicine to help stop platelets in the blood from sticking together and forming clots. At this low strength it is intended for daily heart and circulation protection, not for pain relief. Take it as prescribed, with food or a large glass of water to reduce stomach irritation.
Quitting smoking, eating a heart-healthy diet, staying active and keeping blood pressure and cholesterol controlled support this medicine's protective effect. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can raise the risk of a heart event.
Tell your doctor about any asthma, stomach ulcers or bleeding problems before starting, and about other medicines you take, especially other blood thinners. Report unusual bruising, dark stools, or breathing problems such as wheezing.
