Anloxa 200 Mg Tablet 10 is an antibiotic used in adults to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, and certain sexually transmitted and gut infections. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing ofloxacin, and belongs to a class of medicines called fluoroquinolone antibiotics.
This medicine works by stopping bacteria from copying their DNA, so they cannot multiply. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, with or without food, and do not crush or chew it. Take it at evenly spaced times each day, and complete the full course even if you feel better.
Drink plenty of fluids and rest while you recover. Keep a gap of at least 2 hours between this medicine and antacids, dairy products, or iron and calcium supplements. Avoid alcohol and strong sunlight, and use sun protection.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have epilepsy, tendon problems, kidney or liver problems, heart rhythm problems, or an allergy to quinolone antibiotics, and speak to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not recommended for children or adolescents, and it may cause dizziness, so take care when driving. Stop the medicine and contact your doctor straight away if you have tendon pain or swelling, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or a severe skin reaction. Unnecessary use of antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance.
