Keeping blood pressure controlled helps reduce the strain on the heart and lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke.
It contains amlodipine, which belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers that relax and widen the blood vessels. Take it daily at the same time as prescribed, with or without food, and keep taking it even when you feel well.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems or heart failure before starting, and about other medicines you take. Mild ankle swelling is common; report it if it becomes troublesome, along with marked dizziness or flushing.
