Allegra Tablet is used to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, a runny or itchy nose, and itchy, watery eyes. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing fexofenadine 180mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines (anti-allergic medicines).
This medicine is also used to relieve itching and rash caused by chronic urticaria (long-lasting hives). It usually causes little or no drowsiness. Swallow the tablet with water, and avoid taking it with fruit juices such as orange, apple or grapefruit juice, as these can reduce how well it works.
Avoiding known triggers such as pollen and dust, keeping windows closed on high-pollen days and showering after being outdoors can help reduce symptoms.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease or heart problems, and about other medicines you take. Avoid taking antacids within 2 hours of this tablet.
