Adapnil Gel is primarily used to manage acne vulgaris. It belongs to a group of medicines known as retinoids, and helps reduce inflammation and redness often associated with acne, while also normalising follicular keratinisation. It contains adapalene.
This medicine works by normalising the shedding of skin cells within hair follicles, which prevents pores from becoming clogged and reduces inflammation, together helping clear existing acne and prevent new breakouts.
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin once daily, usually in the evening, as your doctor advises, and continue regular use for the full course, since acne treatments generally take several weeks to show visible improvement.
Avoid applying to broken or irritated skin, and avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and nostrils. Use sun protection during the day, as this medicine can increase sensitivity to sunlight.
