ABZ Suspension is used to treat tapeworm and other parasitic worm infections in children, helping to eliminate the parasites and relieve associated symptoms.

Uses of ABZ Suspension are:

• Neurocysticercosis: Treats tapeworm infection of the brain and nervous system caused by the pork tapeworm.
• Cystic Hydatid Disease: Treats cysts caused by the dog tapeworm affecting the liver, lungs, and other organs.
• Other Worm Infections: Used as part of treatment to eliminate certain tissue-dwelling parasitic worm infections.

If any side effect does not improve or becomes serious, speak to your child's doctor. Do not stop giving the medicine unless the doctor advises you to do so.

Give Abz Suspension 10ml to your child as follows:

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Measure out the exact amount recommended by your child's doctor.
• Always ensure you follow your doctor's advice on how long you can give this medicine to your child.
• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving this medicine.

Abz Suspension 10ml contains albendazole (200 mg), which works on your child's body as follows:

• Disrupts Metabolism of Parasites: Albendazole interferes with the metabolism of parasitic worms which leads to their death. It prevents the formation of substances called microtubules in the cells of the worm's intestine. Microtubules are essential for the worms to absorb nutrients.
• Depletes Energy Stores: The disruption caused by albendazole decreases the parasite's energy stores. Specifically, it depletes stores of glycogen, a type of sugar that provides energy.
• Leads to Elimination: Once the parasites are killed by albendazole, they are eliminated from your child's body through the stool.

• Keep Abz Suspension 10ml in a cool, dry place where the temperature stays below 30°C.
• Shield it from direct sunlight.
• Ensure it's out of reach and sight of children.

• Regular hand hygiene: Teach your child to wash their hands regularly and thoroughly, especially before meals. This can help prevent reinfection by parasitic worms.
• Dietary habits: Encourage your child to avoid undercooked meat. Maintaining this habit can reduce the risk of ingesting parasitic worm eggs that may cause infection.
