Xtracare Ointment 15 GM

Xtracare Ointment 15 GM is used for managing wound infection, cuts and ulcers. It is formulated with Ornidazole, Povidone-Iodine, and Sucralfate, which together provide antiseptic, antimicrobial and wound-healing benefits. Xtracare Ointment helps disinfect the affected area by killing a broad range of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses and fungi. Povidone-Iodine acts as a powerful antiseptic, Ornidazole helps in fighting bacterial infections, and Sucralfate forms a protective barrier that promotes healing. This ointment helps reduce the risk of infection and supports faster skin recovery.

• Povidone-Iodine (5% w/w): A broad-spectrum antiseptic that works by slowly releasing iodine, which effectively kills bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microbes. It helps clean the wound and protects against infection from spreading.
   
• Ornidazole (1% w/w): It is an antimicrobial agent that is particularly effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. It supports infection control by inhibiting microbial DNA synthesis, reducing inflammation and speeding up recovery.
   
• Sucralfate (7% w/w): A wound-healing agent that forms a protective barrier over the damaged tissue. This helps shield the wound from external irritants and creates a moist environment conducive to faster tissue repair and regeneration.

• For Infected Wounds: Xtracare Ointment is commonly used for managing skin wounds that are infected with harmful bacteria, fungi, or viruses. These wounds may occur due to injuries, scratches, or exposure to contaminated surfaces. The combination of antiseptic and antimicrobial ingredients like Povidone-Iodine and Ornidazole helps eliminate the microbes, clean the wound area, and create a healthier environment for natural skin repair.
   
• For Cuts and Abrasions: Minor cuts, nicks, and abrasions from daily activities can become entry points for germs. Xtracare Ointment protects these areas by disinfecting the skin, reducing the risk of infection, and providing a protective layer to avoid further contamination while encouraging healing.
   
• Helps Manage Skin Ulcers: Ulcers are chronic open sores that may develop due to prolonged pressure, poor blood circulation, or complications from conditions like diabetes. Xtracare Ointment supports ulcer management by reducing microbial load, forming a protective barrier with Sucralfate, and enhancing tissue regeneration.
   
• For Burns (Minor to Moderate): In case of first and second-degree burns, the ointment helps soothe the skin, relieve pain, and manage infection. Povidone-Iodine acts as a broad-spectrum antiseptic, while Sucralfate supports the formation of a healing layer over the affected area.

• A sufficient quantity of ointment should be applied to the affected site as a thin film 3 to 4 times a day (or) as directed by the Physician.
