Lifebuoy Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer is used for cleansing hands when soap and water are not available. It is formulated with 70% ethanol, known for its cleansing properties, making it suitable for use in various public and personal settings such as workplaces, travel, and public transport. The quick-drying formulation leaves no sticky residue, allowing comfortable use at any time.

• Ethanol (95%) IP (Denatured): Ethanol is a volatile, fast-evaporating alcohol used as the primary antimicrobial agent in hand sanitisers. In this formulation, 95% Indian Pharmacopoeia–grade ethanol is used and then denatured, meaning it has additives to make it non-drinkable. The final concentration delivered in the product is 70% w/w, which is the level required for rapid disinfection against bacteria, fungi and many viruses. Ethanol works by dissolving the lipid membranes of microbes and denaturing their proteins, leading to rapid cell death. Because it evaporates quickly, it leaves no residue.
