Uritop Suspension interacts with the following medicines:

• Antacids: Medicines containing magnesium trisilicate, like Gaviscon and Gastrogel, can reduce the absorption of Uritop Suspension in your child's body, making it less effective.

• Uricosuric Medicines: Medications like probenecid and sulfinpyrazone, used to manage gout, can decrease the concentration of nitrofurantoin in your child's urine. This reduces the effectiveness of Uritop Suspension in treating urinary tract infections.

• Quinolone Antibiotics: Uritop Suspension can interfere with antibiotics such as norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, and levofloxacin. The interaction may decrease the effectiveness of these medicines.

Uritop Suspension does not have any notable interactions with specific food items. However, it's best to give this medicine to your child with food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset.

Uritop Suspension interacts with the following diseases:

• Severe Renal Impairment: If your child has severe kidney disease where creatinine clearance is less than 60 ml/min, then Uritop Suspension should not be given as it may not work effectively.

• Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD) Deficiency: This genetic disorder can cause Uritop Suspension to trigger a breakdown of red blood cells, leading to hemolytic anemia in your child. Therefore, it should be used with caution.

• Liver Disease: Uritop Suspension should be avoided if your child has severe liver disease or a history of cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction associated with nitrofurantoin use as it could worsen their condition.

The daily dosage of Uritop Suspension should be given to your child as instructed by your doctor. The exact amount may vary, based on the severity of your child's condition and how they respond to the medicine. It's crucial to keep to the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.
