Urilosin 0.2 MG Tablet 10 is used for the management of the conditions:

• Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia
• Relief of urinary obstruction caused by an enlarged prostate
• Management of difficult urination in older men
• Improvement of a weak urine stream
• Reduction of frequent urination due to prostate enlargement
• Decreasing urgency to urinate in prostate conditions
• Alleviating incomplete bladder emptying
• Minimizing night-time urination in prostate disorders

• Swallow the medication whole with a full glass of water.
• Take it at the same time each day for best results.
• This tablet can be taken after the same meal each day.
• Do not crush, chew, or open the tablet.
• Consult your doctor in case of any doubts concerning the medication.

Urilosin 0.2 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Urilosin 0.2 MG Tablet 10 contains tamsulosin (0.2 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blockade: Tamsulosin selectively blocks specific receptors called alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in the prostate, bladder neck, and urethra, which helps relax the smooth muscles in these areas.
• Muscle relaxation: By blocking these receptors, tamsulosin causes the smooth muscles to relax, which widens the urethra and allows urine to flow more freely.
• Improved urinary flow: The relaxation of muscles leads to better urine flow and reduces the pressure on the bladder, helping to relieve symptoms such as difficulty starting urination and weak urine stream.
• Selective action: Unlike some other alpha-blockers, tamsulosin works primarily on the urinary tract with minimal effect on blood vessels elsewhere in the body, potentially causing fewer blood pressure-related side effects.

• Store this tablet in its original packaging at temperatures below 30°C.
• Keep away from direct light, heat, and moisture.
• Store in a cool, dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Limit caffeine intake: Reducing coffee, tea, and energy drinks may help decrease urinary urgency and frequency associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate).

• Stay hydrated but limit evening fluids: Drink plenty of water throughout the day but reduce fluid intake in the evening to minimise night-time trips to the toilet.
