Typbar TCV Vaccine is used to help prevent typhoid fever, an illness caused by Salmonella Typhi bacteria. It does not treat typhoid; it builds up the body's protection against it.
It is a typhoid conjugate vaccine. It works by prompting the immune system to make antibodies, so the body is ready to fight the typhoid bacteria if exposed.
It is given as a single injection by a healthcare professional, usually into the upper arm.
Tell the healthcare professional about any allergies or current illness before it is given. Mild soreness at the injection site or a mild fever can occur afterwards.
