Twimax 500/62.5 MG Injection 1 contains two active ingredients:

• Ceftriaxone (500 mg): This third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic works by inhibiting an essential process in bacterial cells known as cell wall synthesis. It binds to and deactivates proteins vital for building the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell wall. This disruption causes the bacterial cell to break down and die.

• Tazobactam (62.5 mg): Tazobactam acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Some bacteria produce beta-lactamase enzymes that can destroy ceftriaxone; tazobactam stops these enzymes from working. This action restores and enhances ceftriaxone's ability to fight off beta-lactamase-producing bacteria that would otherwise be resistant to ceftriaxone alone.
