Tripride-1 SR Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults when dual therapy is not achieving adequate blood sugar control. The three-medicine combination targets different aspects of diabetes pathophysiology to provide comprehensive glucose management.
It contains glimepiride 1 mg, metformin 500 mg, and pioglitazone 15 mg in a sustained-release formulation. Take it with food as prescribed. Pioglitazone may cause fluid retention (oedema) and weight gain; report significant ankle swelling or breathlessness to your doctor.
Diet and lifestyle remain important alongside this medicine. Regular balanced meals, controlled carbohydrate intake, staying active, and monitoring for signs of fluid retention all support blood sugar management.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any heart failure, liver problems, osteoporosis, or bladder disease (pioglitazone has been associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer in some studies). Regular blood tests including liver function are recommended. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
