Sufrate O Suspension is a gastroprotective medicine used to treat stomach ulcers, acid reflux, heartburn, and inflammation of the stomach lining (gastritis). It creates a physical protective barrier over ulcerated or inflamed areas of the digestive tract, shielding them from stomach acid, pepsin, and bile to promote healing and reduce pain.
It contains sucralfate and oxetacaine. Sucralfate forms a protective coating over damaged stomach tissue, while oxetacaine acts as a local anaesthetic to provide rapid relief from burning stomach pain. Take this suspension as prescribed, usually on an empty stomach before meals, shaking the bottle well before use.
Dietary and lifestyle measures can support recovery from stomach ulcers and acidity. These include avoiding spicy, greasy, or acidic foods, eating smaller and more frequent meals, limiting caffeine and alcohol, and avoiding eating close to bedtime.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, severe constipation, or are taking other medicines, as it may reduce the absorption of other oral medicines. Do not take antacids within 30 minutes of taking this suspension unless advised by your doctor.
