Ropraz 20 Tablet is a medicine used to treat severe heartburn, acid reflux (GERD), and stomach ulcers. It is also used to prevent ulcers in people taking medicines that can irritate the stomach lining. By reducing stomach acid, it allows the sensitive lining of the food pipe and stomach to heal and helps prevent further damage.
It contains rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by reducing acid production in the stomach. Take it as prescribed, ideally on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before breakfast, and swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing it.
Eating smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding spicy or fatty foods, and limiting caffeine and alcohol can help ease symptoms of acidity alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver problems or are taking other medicines. If you need to take it for a long time, your doctor may monitor your vitamin B12 and magnesium levels, as long-term use can affect how well your body absorbs certain nutrients.
