Rivazin 1.5 Capsule 10

Rivazin 1.5 Capsule 10 is used for the following:

• Mild to moderate dementia in Alzheimer's disease

• Mild to moderate symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease

• Memory problems in Alzheimer's patients

• Thinking and reasoning difficulties in dementia

• Confusion management in specific types of dementia

• Cognitive function improvement in eligible patients

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Take this medicine with food, usually during morning and evening meals.

• Do not open, crush or chew the capsule.

• Try to take this medicine at approximately the same time each day.

• If you miss a dose, take the next dose at the usual time. Do not double the dose.

• Consult your doctor if you have questions about using this medicine.

Rivazin 1.5 Capsule 10 is taken orally.

Rivazin 1.5 Capsule 10 contains rivastigmine (1.5 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Acetylcholinesterase inhibition: Rivastigmine reversibly blocks an enzyme called acetylcholinesterase, which normally breaks down a chemical messenger called acetylcholine in the brain. This action helps maintain higher levels of acetylcholine, which is important for memory and thinking.

• Butyrylcholinesterase inhibition: This medicine also inhibits another enzyme called butyrylcholinesterase, further preventing the breakdown of acetylcholine in the brain. This dual inhibition helps preserve more of the chemical messenger needed for cognitive function.

• Increased neurotransmitter levels: By preventing the breakdown of acetylcholine, rivastigmine increases the concentration of this important neurotransmitter specifically in brain regions involved in memory and cognition. This can temporarily improve communication between nerve cells.

• Enhanced cognitive function: The increased levels of acetylcholine in the brain help improve or stabilise symptoms of dementia such as memory, attention, reasoning, and the ability to perform daily activities.

• Store Rivazin 1.5 Capsule 10 at room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep away from moisture and light.

• Store in the original packaging to protect the medicine.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
