Prodin Tablet 10

Prodin Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing stable angina pectoris in adults

• Treating chest pain due to reduced heart blood flow

• Relief of vertigo symptoms

• Management of tinnitus (ringing in ears)

• Improving visual disturbances related to poor circulation

• Optimising cardiac energy metabolism

• Enhancing oxygen utilisation in heart cells

• Maintaining proper cardiac cell functioning

• Preserving cellular integrity during ischemic episodes

Follow these instructions while taking Prodin Tablet 10 :

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Take it regularly as prescribed, even if you feel well.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice about your treatment.

Prodin Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Prodin Tablet 10 contains trimetazidine (20 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Metabolic Shift: Trimetazidine selectively inhibits the mitochondrial long-chain 3-ketoacyl coenzyme A thiolase enzyme, which is involved in fatty acid breakdown.

• Enhances Glucose Oxidation: By partially inhibiting fatty acid oxidation, it promotes glucose oxidation, which requires less oxygen to produce the same amount of energy in heart cells.

• Oxygen Utilisation: It improves the efficiency of oxygen use by heart cells without affecting blood pressure or heart rate, making it particularly useful during periods of reduced oxygen supply.

• ATP Preservation: Trimetazidine prevents the decrease in intracellular ATP (adenosine triphosphate) levels, which helps maintain proper energy supply to cardiac cells during oxygen shortage.

• Cellular Protection: It helps preserve cellular integrity by maintaining ionic pump function and transmembrane sodium-potassium flow, minimising damage to heart cells during ischemic episodes.

• Store Prodin Tablet 10 in a cool, dry place at room temperature (not exceeding 30°C).

• Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.
