POMAROW 2 CAPSULE 21 is used to treat multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. It is usually given together with other medicines, such as dexamethasone, and is often used when the cancer has come back or has not responded to earlier treatment. It may also be used for certain types of Kaposi's sarcoma.
It contains pomalidomide, which belongs to a group of medicines called immunomodulatory agents that act on the immune system. Swallow the capsule whole as prescribed; do not open or crush it. It is taken in treatment cycles arranged by your specialist.
Keeping all appointments for blood tests and reviews helps your team manage the treatment and catch problems early.
This medicine can seriously harm an unborn baby, so strict pregnancy prevention is required for women who can become pregnant, and men must use reliable contraception. Tell your doctor about any blood clots, breathing or liver problems before starting. Report fever, unusual bruising or bleeding, breathlessness, or pain or swelling in a leg.
