Pericort 4 Tablet 10

Pericort 4 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Management of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
• Controlling severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis or angioedema
• Handling inflammatory skin conditions like dermatitis and psoriasis
• Management of respiratory diseases, including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Dealing with certain cancers, such as leukaemia and lymphoma
• Managing endocrine disorders like congenital adrenal hyperplasia
• Control of gastrointestinal diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease

Here are some instructions while taking Pericort 4 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• This medicine can be taken with or without food.
• Never stop taking this medicine abruptly without consulting your doctor.

Pericort 4 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Pericort 4 Tablet 10 contains Triamcinolone (4 mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• Binding to Glucocorticoid Receptors: Triamcinolone works by binding to glucocorticoid receptors in various body tissues. As a result, it regulates gene transcription and protein synthesis.
• Anti-inflammatory Effect: Triamcinolone effectively reduces inflammation, swelling, and associated pain in treated conditions by inhibiting the production and release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
• Immunosuppressive Action: As a potent synthetic glucocorticoid, triamcinolone suppresses the immune system which is beneficial in managing autoimmune diseases.
• Vasoconstrictive Properties: Triamcinolone also has vasoconstrictive properties which means it can narrow blood vessels, helping to reduce inflammation and swelling.

• Store Pericort 4 Tablet 10 at room temperature, ideally between 15-30°C.
• Keep the medicine away from direct light and moisture.
• Always keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children.
• Ensure you use this medication before the expiry date is printed on the packaging.
