Olmy D 40 Tablet 10

The Olmy-D 40 Tablet is used for managing the following health conditions:

• Reducing high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.

• Controlling essential hypertension in adults whose blood pressure isn't adequately managed by monotherapy with either Indapamide or Olmesartan.

Here's how you should take your Olmy-D 40 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water. Avoid crushing or chewing it.

• You can take this medicine with or without food, as suitable for you.

• Try to take the medicine at the same time each day for best results.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's important that you don't stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Olmy-D 40 Tablet is taken orally.

Olmy-D 40 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Olmesartan Medoxomil (40 mg): This ingredient is an angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist. It blocks the binding of a substance called angiotensin II to AT1 receptors in your body. This prevents the tightening of your blood vessels and the release of a hormone called aldosterone, which can increase blood pressure. As a result, your blood vessels relax, your peripheral resistance decreases, and your blood pressure is reduced.

• Indapamide (1.5 mg): This works on a specific part of your kidneys, known as the distal convoluted tubule, to increase the excretion of sodium, chloride, and water. This results in a decrease in blood volume and cardiac output, effectively reducing your blood pressure. Indapamide also helps to relax your blood vessels by reducing the contractility of the cells in your vascular smooth muscle.

• Store your Olmy-D 40 Tablet at a cool room temperature, below 30°C, away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

• Keep the container tightly closed to avoid exposure to moisture and air.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• Use the medicine before its expiry date as indicated on the package.

• Since Olmy-D 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure, try to limit your salt intake. Too much salt can increase your blood pressure.

• Regular physical activity helps reduce blood pressure. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, like brisk walking or cycling, each week.
