Norflox D Eye/ear Drops 10 ML

Norflox D Eye/Ear Drops are used to treat bacterial infections affecting the eyes and ears. In ophthalmic use, they help control infections like bacterial conjunctivitis and inflammation of the eyelids. When used in the ear, the drops are effective for outer ear infections and for managing long-standing ear infections with discharge, helping reduce infection, swelling, and discomfort.

• Ensure your hands are clean before handling the drops.

• For eye instillation, tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper above the affected eye and squeeze out 1 or 2 drops as needed.

• For ear instillation, clean the ear canal thoroughly and dry it before instillation. Lie down with your affected ear upward and instil 4 drops into the ear. Remain in this position for about a minute to allow the drops to penetrate.

• If irritation persists or increases, discontinue the use and consult your doctor.

• Do not touch the nozzle tip to any surface since this may contaminate the solution.

Norflox Eye/ear Drops are instilled topically.

Norflox Eye/ear Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Norfloxacin (0.3%): This fluoroquinolone antibiotic works by inhibiting a bacterial enzyme involved in DNA replication, repair, and transcription called DNA gyrase. By disrupting these processes, norfloxacin effectively stops bacterial DNA synthesis leading to cell death.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.01%): This compound acts as a preservative preventing microbial contamination in the eye/ear drop solution. Additionally, it has antimicrobial properties which contribute to the overall antibacterial effect of the drops.

• Always store Norflox Eye/ear Drops at room temperature, ideally in a cool and dry place.

• Protect from light, ensuring that the bottle is tightly capped when not in use.

• Keep out of reach from children to prevent accidental ingestion or misuse.

• If you're managing bacterial infections in your eyes or ears with Norflox Eye/ear Drops, take care to maintain good hygiene practices. Avoid touching your eyes or ears without washing your hands first.

• For those with ear infections, avoid swimming or water-based activities until you fully recover, as this might exacerbate the symptoms. Always dry your ears properly after bathing or showering.
