NITROQUICK 6.4 TABLET 30 is used to help prevent angina, the chest pain that occurs when the heart muscle does not get enough blood, in people with coronary artery disease. It is used as a regular treatment to reduce how often angina occurs and to support long-term control.
It belongs to a group of medicines called nitrate vasodilators. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels so that more blood and oxygen can reach the heart muscle, which eases the heart's workload. Take it regularly as directed by your doctor.
Heart-healthy habits support treatment alongside this medicine. These include eating a balanced diet low in saturated fat, staying as active as your doctor advises, quitting smoking, and keeping to a healthy weight.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any low blood pressure, recent heart problems, or other medicines you take, especially medicines for erectile problems, which must not be combined with nitrates. If your chest pain becomes more frequent or severe, or does not settle, seek medical help promptly. Stand up slowly to reduce dizziness. Continue taking it for the full duration prescribed, and do not stop it without medical advice.
