Nicardia CD Retard 30 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It also helps prevent angina, a type of chest pain related to the heart, and reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
It belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers, which help relax and widen blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood. Take this tablet by mouth, swallowing it whole as directed by your doctor; do not crush or chew it, as it is designed to release the medicine slowly. Continue taking it regularly, even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Reducing salt intake, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol can help support blood pressure control alongside this medicine. Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice, as it can interact with this medicine.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any pre-existing health conditions, including heart, liver, or kidney problems, or if you are taking other medicines. Tell your doctor if you notice swelling of the ankles or feet, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or persistent flushing. It is important to continue taking the medicine for the full duration prescribed by your doctor.
