Mycobloc Shampoo is an antifungal shampoo used to treat dandruff (pityriasis capitis) and seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp. It contains ketoconazole, an antifungal medicine that works against the yeast-like fungus commonly responsible for these conditions, helping to reduce flaking, itching, and redness.
Wet your hair and scalp, apply the shampoo, and gently massage it in, leaving it on the scalp for a few minutes as directed before rinsing thoroughly. Use it as often as advised by your doctor, usually two to three times a week to begin with, and continue for the duration prescribed for the best results.
Avoid using other harsh or medicated shampoos at the same time unless advised by your doctor, and keep your scalp clean and dry between washes to help control flaking.
Before using this shampoo, tell your doctor if you have any known allergy to antifungal medicines or if you have broken or irritated skin on your scalp. Avoid contact with the eyes, and rinse thoroughly with water if this happens. Stop using it and consult your doctor if irritation becomes severe.
