Metcor Sr 1000 MG Tablet 15 is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. By reducing the glucose made by the liver and improving the body's response to insulin, it helps keep blood sugar steady. It is also used to help manage insulin resistance and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
It contains metformin in a slow-release (""SR"") form, which belongs to a group of medicines called biguanides. The slow-release form is gentler on the stomach and is usually taken with food.
A balanced diet with controlled carbohydrate intake, regular activity, keeping to a healthy weight and routine blood sugar monitoring support better control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report ongoing vomiting, fast breathing, severe stomach pain or unusual muscle pain, which can be signs of a rare but serious problem.
