Mecobec G Tablet 10 is used to treat neuropathic pain, which is caused by damage to the nerves. It is a combination medicine containing gabapentin (an anticonvulsant) and methylcobalamin (a form of vitamin B12).
Nerve pain can be caused by diabetes, shingles, multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injuries. Gabapentin reduces nerve pain, while methylcobalamin helps repair damaged nerves. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop it suddenly.
If you have diabetes, keep your blood sugar well controlled, check your feet regularly and avoid alcohol.
Before starting, tell your doctor about your medical conditions, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Side effects are usually mild; seek medical attention if you notice severe symptoms. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
