Mahadryl Syrup is used to manage cough along with related symptoms such as throat irritation and chest congestion. It also helps with allergy symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, and itching of the throat or eyes, and can make a chesty cough more productive.
It contains diphenhydramine, an antihistamine; ammonium chloride and sodium citrate, which help loosen mucus; and menthol, which soothes throat irritation. Measure each dose with the cup provided and take it as prescribed. Because it can cause drowsiness, avoid driving until you know how it affects you.
Drinking plenty of warm fluids helps soothe the throat and loosen mucus. Steam inhalation, resting, and avoiding smoke and other airway irritants can also ease a cough and support recovery.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, a long-standing lung condition, glaucoma, or prostate problems, or are taking other medicines. Speak to your doctor if the cough lasts more than a week or comes back. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
