CompositionLongifene Syrup is used to relieve symptoms of allergic conditions such as hay fever (allergic rhinitis), hives (urticaria) and allergic conjunctivitis. It also helps prevent and manage motion sickness.
It contains buclizine, an antihistamine that blocks the effects of histamine, a substance in the body that triggers allergic reactions. Take it as prescribed, generally after meals. It may also be used in some cases to help stimulate appetite.
Since this medicine can cause drowsiness, avoid activities requiring alertness, such as cycling or operating machinery, until you know how it affects you or your child. Monitor for excessive sleepiness, particularly in young children.
Tell your doctor about any pre-existing conditions, such as liver problems, or other medicines being taken before starting this syrup. Follow the specific dose and timing advised by your doctor, and contact them if drowsiness or other side effects are severe or persistent.
