Livial 2.5 mg Tablet is used for the following:

• Easing menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats

• Managing sleep disturbances caused by menopause

• Reducing vaginal dryness associated with menopause

• Preventing loss of bone density in postmenopausal women, thereby preventing osteoporosis

• Enhancing mood and libido in women going through menopause.

Follow these instructions while taking Livial 2.5 mg Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's more than 12 hours late. In this case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Livial 2.5 mg Tablet contains Tibolone (2.5 mg) and its activity in the body is as follows:

• Metabolism into Active Metabolites: Once consumed, Tibolone is metabolised in the intestines and liver into three active substances: 3α-hydroxytibolone, 3β-hydroxytibolone, and Δ4-tibolone.

• Reduction of Vasomotor Symptoms: The two metabolites, 3α-hydroxytibolone and 3β-hydroxytibolone, act on estrogen receptors in the body. This action helps reduce vasomotor symptoms of menopause and increase bone density.

• Protection of Endometrium: The Δ4-tibolone metabolite has progestogenic activity, which helps protect the endometrium.

• Enhancement of Mood and Sexual Function: The androgenic activity of Δ4-tibolone may help boost mood and sexual function in menopausal women.
