Lastet 50 MG Capsule 8 is used for the following:

• Treatment of small cell lung cancer

• Management of testicular cancer

• Therapy for Hodgkin lymphoma

• Treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma

• Managing acute myeloid leukaemia

• Therapy for ovarian cancer

• Treatment of various solid tumours

• Management of germ cell tumours

• Combination therapy with other anticancer medicines

Follow these instructions while taking Lastet 50 MG Capsule 8:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Take on an empty stomach for better absorption.

• Do not open, crush, or chew the capsule.

• Maintain consistent timing each day as advised by your doctor.

• Wash your hands thoroughly after handling the capsule.

Lastet 50 MG Capsule 8 is taken orally.

Lastet 50 MG Capsule 8 contains etoposide (50 mg), which works in the following ways:

• Topoisomerase II inhibition: Etoposide blocks an enzyme called topoisomerase II, which plays a crucial role in DNA replication during cell division.

• DNA strand breakage: By interfering with topoisomerase II, etoposide causes breaks in DNA strands, thereby preventing cancer cells from replicating their DNA properly.

• Cell cycle disruption: Etoposide specifically targets cancer cells in the late S and G2 phases of the cell cycle. These are crucial stages where cells prepare for division, making the medicine particularly effective against fast-growing tumours.

• Apoptosis induction: The DNA damage caused by etoposide triggers programmed cell death (apoptosis) in rapidly dividing cancer cells, helping to reduce tumour growth.

• Store Lastet 50 MG Capsule 8 below 25°C in its original packaging.

• Keep the medicine protected from light and moisture.

• Store in a safe place away from children and pets.

• Store in a dry place away from bathroom humidity.

• Check the expiry date before use and discard properly if expired.

• During chemotherapy with Lastet 50 MG Capsule 8, maintain strict hygiene practices, including frequent hand washing, to reduce the risk of infection while your immune system (your body's defence against illness) is weakened.

• Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, as this helps your body process and eliminate the chemotherapy medicines more effectively.
