HIPRIDE 1 MG TABLET 10 is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone do not control blood sugar. It contains glimepiride, a sulfonylurea that helps the pancreas release more insulin, lowering and maintaining stable blood sugar levels.
Take this tablet by mouth, usually with the first main meal, as prescribed. It may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines such as metformin. Continue taking it regularly, even if you feel well.
Following a controlled-carbohydrate diet, eating meals at regular times, staying physically active and monitoring your blood glucose regularly all help support blood sugar control alongside this medicine. Carry a source of fast-acting sugar with you in case of low blood sugar.
Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, or a history of low blood sugar, before starting this medicine. Report symptoms of low blood sugar such as sweating, shakiness, confusion or hunger to your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
