Herduo Tablet 30 is used to treat metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. It is usually given together with other anticancer medicines such as capecitabine, trastuzumab or a hormone therapy.
It contains lapatinib, a targeted anticancer medicine (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor). It works by blocking the signals that drive the growth of HER2-positive cancer cells.
Take it exactly as prescribed, on an empty stomach, either one hour before or two hours after eating. Attend all monitoring appointments.
Tell your doctor about any heart or liver problems before starting, as this medicine can affect the heart and liver. Report severe diarrhoea, painful hands and feet, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Take this medicine on an empty stomach.

Do not crush, split, or chew the tablet.
Take the medicine at the same time each day for the best results.
Continue taking this medicine for as long as your doctor has advised.

Management Of Side Effects:
Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and are resolved by discontinuing the use of Herduo Tablet 30. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.
Nausea: Try taking Herduo Tablet 30 two hours after meals to reduce stomach discomfort.
Fatigue: Consider taking this medicine at bedtime to help manage feelings of tiredness during the day.
How Herduo Tablet 30 Works?
Herduo Tablet 30 contains lapatinib (250 mg), which works on the body as follows:
Inhibits HER2 receptors: Lapatinib blocks a specific protein called HER2/ErbB2 that is found in excessive amounts on cancer cells. By preventing this protein from sending growth signals, it helps slow down cancer cell multiplication.
Inhibits EGFR: This medicine also blocks another protein, EGFR/ErbB1, which promotes cancer growth. This dual blocking action provides a more comprehensive approach to stopping cancer cell survival mechanisms.
Interrupts signalling pathways: By binding to these receptors, lapatinib prevents them from transmitting growth signals inside cancer cells, leading to decreased cell growth and division.
Promotes cancer cell death: The interruption in signalling pathways not only slows down cancer growth but can also, in some cases, lead to the death of cancer cells.

Pregnancy
