Heplovir 200 MG Capsule 40 is used for the following:

• Treating chronic hepatitis C virus infection

• Managing hepatitis C in combination therapy

• Fighting viral infections in adults

• As part of antiviral therapy to reduce viral load and liver inflammation in hepatitis C patients

• Combating respiratory syncytial virus infections

• Managing certain viral haemorrhagic fevers

• Treating Lassa fever

• Managing Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever

Follow these instructions while taking Heplovir 200 MG Capsule 40:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule.

• Drink plenty of fluids while on this medicine.

• Take doses at the same time each day for the best results.

Heplovir 200 MG Capsule 40 is taken orally.

Heplovir 200 MG Capsule 40 contains ribavirin (200 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Viral RNA synthesis interference: Ribavirin disrupts the virus's ability to make copies of its genetic material, preventing the hepatitis C virus from multiplying inside your cells.

• RNA polymerase inhibition: It blocks an essential enzyme called RNA polymerase, which viruses need to replicate their genetic information, thereby helping to stop the spread of infection in the body.

• Genetic material disruption: Ribavirin affects the production of viral genetic material, making it difficult for the virus to create functional copies of itself and spread to other cells.

• Multiple mechanisms of action: This medicine works through several different pathways simultaneously to combat viral infections, making it more effective when combined with other antiviral medications.

• Store Heplovir 200 MG Capsule 40 at room temperature (15-30°C).

• Keep the medicine away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Do not store in the bathroom due to humidity concerns.

• Keep this medicine out of reach of children and pets.
