CompositionGutron 2.5 mg Tablet is used to manage orthostatic hypotension, a condition where blood pressure drops significantly on standing, causing dizziness and potential fainting, in adults. It is also used to support patients with autonomic dysfunction, including Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy and pure autonomic failure.
It contains midodrine, a sympathomimetic amine that narrows blood vessels to help maintain blood pressure when standing. Take it as prescribed, generally during the daytime hours when you are upright and active, and avoid taking a dose close to bedtime.
Rising slowly from sitting or lying down, and staying well hydrated, can help reduce symptoms of low blood pressure alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney problems or difficulty passing urine before starting. Report a very slow heartbeat, urinary retention or persistent high blood pressure while lying down promptly.
