Gravidol 20 MG Injection is used for the following:

• Management of hypertensive emergencies

• Control of severe high blood pressure during pregnancy

• Regulation of perioperative blood pressure

• Management of acute hypertensive episodes

• Prevention of organ damage from dangerously high blood pressure

• Control of blood pressure in severe preeclampsia

• Management of eclampsia-related hypertension

• Rapid blood pressure reduction when oral medicines fail

Follow these instructions when Gravidol 20 MG Injection is administered:

• This medicine must only be given by healthcare professionals in a hospital setting.

• Remain lying down for at least three hours after receiving this medicine.

• Avoid sudden position changes to prevent dizziness after administration.

• Your blood pressure and heart rate will be continuously monitored during treatment.

• The medicine may be given as a slow injection or as a continuous drip.

• Consult your doctor about any concerns during administration.

Gravidol 20 MG Injection is administered intravenously.

Gravidol 20 MG Injection contains labetalol (20 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Dual receptor blockade: Labetalol blocks both alpha and beta receptors in your cardiovascular system, allowing it to lower blood pressure through multiple pathways.

• Beta-1 receptor blocking: It reduces heart rate and the force of heart contractions by blocking beta-1 receptors in cardiac tissue, which decreases the amount of blood your heart pumps out.

• Alpha-1 receptor blocking: By blocking alpha-1 receptors in the blood vessels, labetalol causes them to relax and widen (vasodilation), thereby reducing resistance to blood flow.

• Prevention of reflex tachycardia: Unlike medicines that only dilate blood vessels, labetalol prevents the unwanted increase in heart rate that often occurs when blood pressure drops suddenly.

• Store Gravidol 20 MG Injection at room temperature.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging until ready for use.

• Protect from light and excessive heat.

• Do not freeze the injection.

• Keep all medicines out of sight and reach of children.

• Check the expiry date and do not use it after this date.

• Low-sodium diet: Reducing your sodium intake can help manage high blood pressure alongside your medication. Aim to consume less than 5 g of salt daily by avoiding processed foods and not adding salt to meals.
