GLYMIA 1M 1000SR TABLET 10 is used for the following:

Follow these instructions while taking GLYMIA 1M 1000SR TABLET 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet.

• Maintain regular timing for taking this medicine each day.

• Continue taking this medicine for as long as your doctor advises.

GLYMIA 1M 1000SR TABLET 10 contains two active ingredients that work together to control blood sugar:

• Metformin (1000 mg): As a biguanide, metformin primarily reduces glucose production in the liver by suppressing gluconeogenesis, which is the process of making new glucose molecules. It also increases peripheral glucose uptake, particularly in skeletal muscle, and delays glucose absorption from the intestines.

• Glimepiride (1 mg): This component belongs to the sulfonylurea class and works by stimulating the pancreatic beta cells to release more insulin. It helps improve your body's sensitivity to insulin, enhancing glucose uptake and utilisation by peripheral tissues.

GLYMIA 1M 1000SR TABLET 10 must be stored as instructed below to maintain its efficacy:

• Store the tablet at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C.

• Keep the tablet in its original container, protect it from moisture and light.
