GLENVIRAX 800 MG TABLET 10 is a prescription antiviral medicine used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses, including shingles (herpes zoster), chickenpox (varicella), and genital herpes.
It contains acyclovir. It is converted to its active form primarily in virus-infected cells, where it inhibits viral DNA polymerase and prevents viral DNA replication. This helps reduce viral replication, shortens the healing time of blisters, and decreases the formation of new lesions.
Take this tablet orally with or without food, exactly as directed by your doctor. Starting treatment as soon as possible after the first signs of a rash or tingling sensation provides the greatest benefit.
Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine to help reduce the risk of kidney-related side effects. Continue taking it for the full prescribed duration, even if your symptoms begin to improve.
