• Treatment as part of combination chemotherapy protocols

• Managing certain types of advanced cancers

• Therapy for cancers that have spread to other body parts

• Treatment of cancers not responding to other medicines

• This medicine must only be administered by qualified healthcare staff in a hospital or clinic.

• It may be administered as a quick injection or as a slow drip over several hours.

• Your doctor will decide the best method based on your treatment plan.

• Report any unusual symptoms to your doctor immediately.

Florac 500 MG Injection 10 ML is administered intravenously.

Florac 500 MG Injection 10 ML contains fluorouracil (500 mg), which works in the following ways:

• Inhibits thymidylate synthase: Fluorouracil blocks an important enzyme called thymidylate synthase that cancer cells need to make DNA, preventing them from creating new genetic material for cell division.

• Disrupts RNA function: The medicine incorporates itself into the RNA (ribonucleic acid) of cancer cells, interfering with their ability to make proteins necessary for cell survival and growth.

• Targets rapidly dividing cells: Fluorouracil specifically affects cells that divide quickly, such as cancer cells, by preventing them from reproducing effectively.

• Causes cell death: By blocking essential cellular processes, fluorouracil ultimately leads to cancer cell death, a process known as apoptosis.

• Store Florac 500 MG Injection 10 ML at controlled room temperature (below 30°C).
